The Tom McNab Trophy is held each year as a cup final fixture between the Counties Manukau Knockout Cup Winner and the Northern Knockout Cup Winner.
History:
The Trophy was contested annually between the Auckland and Franklin (later Counties Manukau) representative teams. In this form it was first played in 1983 with Franklin winning 2-1, it was last played in 1999 - with the southerners (now Counties Manukau) once again prevailing. Overall Counties had a 7 win, 2 draw and 3 loss record.
The Trophy went into recess after the federations were formed but was rejuvenated in 2005 as a club competition with the full support of Tom McNab who attended the final.
