Introduction to Small Whites Coaching - Workshop

Aims:

To give the participants of this short workshop, an awareness of practices, teaching methods and general coaching information.
To briefly touch on areas of development such as : Player characteristics, How sessions ‘fit’ the development age, How children learn, safety and injury prevention, Organisation of sessions.

What does the Workshop Involve?

The workshop is designed to provide coaches with a basic introduction to coaching football with junior players. During the workshop coaches will see a variety of age appropriate games and activities, that they can use with their own players, as well as being provided with an insight into how to manage a coaching session. Coaches will have the opportunity to participate in the games presented, ask questions and complete simple group tasks in a relaxed and fun environment.

Who is the Course Aimed at?

New and beginner coaches working with children under the age of 12 years. Any coach new to working with junior players or simply looking for fresh ideas will enjoy this 2 hour introductory workshop.

How do Coaches Register?

There are a number of ways to register for a workshop:

Route 1:

Step 1: Coaches float the idea with their fellow junior club coaches and take a list of those that are interested.
Step 2: Contact your local Federation and arrange a suitable date, time and location for a NZF accredited presenter to deliver at their club (minimum group sizes apply).
Route 2:

Step 1: Coaches contact their club to find out when the next workshop will be delivered and register with the club.
Step 2: If the club aren’t holding a workshop contact your local Federation to find out when and where the nearest workshop will be held and to register.
