Grassroots Football
The Auckland Football Federation Grassroots Program has been revised for 2008. A new coaching curriculum has been developed based on the Teaching Games for Understanding model, which places emphasis on learning within the game. The Grassroots Football program will cover boys and girls aged 7-14. The program curriculum will be broken up into three age groups, with groups formed in according to ability (as much as possible).
All sessions will be held on a Sunday morning.

Age: Players born in 1993 through to 2000
Programming: Three blocks to be held in Terms 1, 2 and 4 of the school year
Dates: Term 2: Sunday 11 May - Sunday 29 June
Venues: Avondale and Papakura
Sessions: 7 sessions (one per week)
Cost: $70

Auckland Football Centre of Excellence (12th-15th grade boys & U12 - U16 Girls) - This is invite only
The Auckland Football Centre of Excellence (COE) program is invite only, after a nomination and trial process, and will cover boys aged 12-15 and girls aged 12-16. Gender specific groups will operate in this program. Groups will be formed on ability level. These groups will roughly resemble the ages of the players. Players will be able to train with an older group but will not be able to train with a younger group.
To be eligible to represent Auckland Football at the Weir Rosebowl or National Age Group Tournament, players must take part in Block 1 (Oct - Dec) of this program.
Invitations to attend the COE will be made following trials. Trials will be held each year, prior to Block 1 for the relevant age groups.

Programming: U12 Boys & Girls - July-Sept (Dates TBA), 13th-15th Boys, U13,U14 & U16 Girls - Oct–Dec
